Monument to Dumas
Alexandre Dumas (1802–1870) was a famous French writer, author of The Count of Monte Cristo and The Three Musketeers. In 1858–1859, he traveled through the Caucasus, visiting Derbent, Guba, Baku, Shamakhi, and Sheki.
His impressions formed the basis of the book Journey to the Caucasus (1859), which contains important information about the culture and daily life of the peoples of Azerbaijan.
