    Traditional activities





    The traditional activities of Mountain Jews are agriculture and craft. Many townspeoples also were engaged in agriculture: mainly gardening, viticulture and winemaking (especially in Guba and Derbent), as well as growing madder, from the roots of which they received red paint.
