The ceremony in honor of beginning of the reconstruction of the traditional mountain-Jewish dwelling took place in Red Village. On May 23, a ceremony was held in Red Village to begin the reconstruction of a traditional mountain Jewish house. The project was supported by the Mountain Jews Heritage Center, the US and Israeli embassies in Baku, and the Heydar Aliyev Foundation. Thus, the foundation was laid for the preservation of the ethnic culture and national heritage of the Mountain Jews. The project will serve the further development of tourism in Red Village to introduce all those interested in the Mountain Jewish culture. The ceremony was attended by: Head of the Guba District Executive Authority Ziyaddin Aliyev, US Ambassador to Baku Earl Litzenberger, Israeli Ambassador George Dick, deputy of the Milli Majlis of Azerbaijan and representative of the Heydar Aliyev Foundation Sultan Mammadov, director of the Museum of History and Culture of Mountain Jews Igor Shaulov. The guests in their speeches noted the strong friendship of the three countries which resulted in fruitful cooperation, expressed admiration for the unique project emphasizing the multi-confessional and multicultural nature of the region.
